If you’re tired of the usual apple or berry smoothie, or don’t want to start your day with a large dose of sugar, try this filling alternative. It’ll knock your socks off!

Makes 2 servings.

Ingredients

1 avocado, peeled and seeded

2 scoops protein powder or 2 Tbs nut butter, any type (or Malabar Nut Meat Substitute)

2 cups bone broth (hot or cold)

2-4 cups fresh or frozen greens, any type (try raw arugula, collards, coromandel, kale, lettuce, Malabar spinach, moringa, spinach, or cooked chaya, hibiscus or sweetpotato)

2 tsp turmeric

seasonings to taste (garlic powder, salt, pepper…)

1/ 2 cup ice (optional)

Directions

Put all ingredients into a blender and whirl. A Vitamix makes the smoothest smoothie, but any blender will work.

Serve hot, warm or cold.

How do you like it? Hot, warm or cold?

Mary
